VISUAL ARTIST | PERFORMER | DIRECTOR

Claudia Mulet

is a Cuban multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. She was born and raised in Havana, Cuba and holds a bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from Cuba's prestigious ISA (Superior Institute of Arts), as well as a Fellowship in Dramaturgy.

While her formal education focused on acting and directing for the theater, painting has always been Claudia's means of escaping reality and exploring new realms. In Cuba, she had the opportunity to work alongside her mother, the renowned artist Ileana Mulet, who imparted upon her the techniques and artistry of painting and visual creation. Even today, Claudia incorporates some of her mother's techniques into her own artwork. Painting and theater serve as Claudia's chosen channels for self-expression and communication.

Through her art, Claudia aspires to transport viewers to uncharted worlds and deeply resonate with their souls. She firmly believes in the power of theater and the arts to enhance the human condition and bring about positive change.

Artist Statement:

As humans, we often become so focused on our daily routines and our immediate surroundings that we forget we are part of a larger universe that is alive and connected. Through my art, I aim to help viewers see the beauty and complexity of the world beyond our individual perspectives and boundaries. By cultivating a greater sense of awe and wonder about the universe around us, we may become more empathetic, compassionate, and kind towards each other.
